Lego Alpha Team Patch (windows XP)?

ok, so I want to play Lego Alpha Team again on my PC to sorta relive my childhood to a degree.

problem: The “Press space to continue” screen with the game demo video behind it begins to run and then the sound file runs for about 5 seconds, but THEN… it will REPEAT the first 5 seconds over and over… when I go to the main menu, “TV” says his thing but, same problem- 5 seconds in, the sound file begins to repeat. the game eventually locks up and becomes unusable until you restart the game.

needless to say, this doesn’t let you play the game. My assumption is that the newer service packs for windows XP make the game unplayable. it was designed to work on 98, 2000, and XP.

so dos anyone know of any patches or ways to fix this game?

*I HAVE TRIED IT ON MULTIPLE MACHINES WITH 2 DIFFERENT CD’S SO IT IS AN OS COMPATIBILITY ISSUE*

Lego Alpha Team was designed to run on Windows 95/98, but will also work under Windows Me and Vista/7 if you run it as an administrator.

Don’t try to run it on a Windows 95/98/Me Virtual Machine, because it requires an “8MB Direct3D compatible video card (capable of 640×480 16-bit high color)” (see http://lego.com/eng/interactive/faqhints.asp?Title=Alpha+Team&Code=PC&ACTION=FAQ), and graphics acceleration is not supported by Virtual Machine software for these operating systems.

Your best bet is to either find an old PC with an 8MB graphics card, or to run the game in Windows Vista/7 as an administrator.
