How much would a Train set from before the Berlin Wall fell be worth?

My Father has a few train sets in the basement, that date back before the Berlin Wall fell. But we got talking and I thought about the Trains he had. But what I’m wondering is what are they worth? They have to be worth a bit, I mean its from way back in the 1989, that’s 20 years old. So, thanks.

I’ve got the name of two of the train model names. They are: Marklin Elec. Trains, and Fleishmann Electric Trains

First, 20 years is not old for a collectible item. Really.

Second, if you think you have an item that is worth something, have it professionally appraised. People here can only guess. Contact an appraiser. To find one, phone a local hobby shop that sells model trains and ask them to please recommend someone who can appraise them.
