How would i become a fighter pilot in australia?

im a 15 year old male from newcastle australia and have just become very interested in becoming a fighter pilot

i am in all the top classes at my school (very good at science not so much english) am also a very decent footballer (soccer) and a very fit person with very good communiction skills.

all help appreciated

“Just” become interested in flying? I assure you, from what I’ve read, the Pilots Course is VERY hard, and as one of our FJ blokes says here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EYuyGYtoj4g Motivation, is VERY important. If this is something you’ve decided to do on a whim, my advice to you is that you perhaps look at another occupation.

Do you do anything Aviation oriented? Go up for a flight, and see how it is. You can initiate the recruiting process at 16.5 years, from there, read up on www.defencejobs.gov.au (which has basically all of your answers) about how the process works, what’s involved, etc. If you’re good enough, you’ll get in. Remember, pilots are also Officers, so if you haven’t involved yourself in a Leadership role, doing so doesn’t hurt. You play Soccer, good, you’re a team-player, DFR like that, from what I’ve read.

Assuming you have the motivation, just keep at it and give it 120%. Also, being a pilot isn’t all grades, as that pilot in the video also says.
